Women's Retreat

The 2017 Annual Women’s Retreat is scheduled at Chapel Rock, Prescott, on November 3-5. We will continue on the theme of “It Is Well with My Soul,” with the added focus of “Ignite!” What does it mean to come from a Wesleyan heritage in which hearts are strangely warmed? How do we move from feeling tired, separated, bored without faith to having a new passion for God! Come explore our Wesleyan heritage, rest and know that you are loved during this awesome week-end together! This year, we invite participant’s families to join us for our outdoor Sunday morning worship service!  If you would like to be part of this wonderful event, call the church office (778-1950) to sign up.

Advent Bible Study

Messiah Prophets foretold of His incarnation, angels and shepherds rejoiced at his birth, friends cried for joy at his resurrection, the book of Revelation proclaims His second coming. He is Jesus, the Messiah. George Frederick Handel put Charles Jennens biblical extracts to music to create the best known and most loved of all sacred oratorios in the work we simply refer to as “Messiah”. It is these passages; starting with the prophetical texts from the Book of Isaiah, to the miracle of His birth in Bethlehem, His life, death and resurrection as chronicled in the Gospels, to a vision of the shining City on the Hill, that form the material for this year’s Advent Study. Using the LifeGuide Bible Study “The Messiah” by Douglas Connelly we will study and discuss these profound biblical passages as we let Handel’s musical score inspire us to greater understanding and insight into the heart of the Jewish and Christian beliefs. This study will change the way you listen to The Messiah forever, and may very well change the way you live. Multiple class schedules will be offered during the four weeks of Advent starting the week of November 27 with signups beginning in early November.
