The music ministry of Prescott United Methodist Church is an exciting place to serve in God’s church. The music program is led by Mrs. Carole Nickerson, Director of Music Ministries. Carole has been our Music Ministry Director since September, 1993 and has expanded the ministry as our church has grown.  Under her direction the music we use is some of the best being offered to churches and matches our abilities.  We are excited and thankful for our choir rehearsal room and music library. We are delighted to have Carole leading us.

Our organist / pianist is Patty Newton who gives her all being an intergral part of our music program. 

There are many opportunities to sing or play an instrument in the Music Ministries

 

Chancel Choir

Our Chancel choir is our Sunday morning choir, singing at our 9:00 and 10:30 services. We try to sing a variety of music including spirituals, classical, and contemporary.

We meet every Wednesday evening at 7:15 p.m. in the choir room.

This choir not only enjoy singing together, but it is a wonderful supportive group that often socializes together and shares ideas and life experiences.


Celebration Choir

Our Celebration choir sings several times a month at our 5:00 Saturday evening services. We sing a combination of spirituals and contemporary music and try to bring an exhilarated feeling to our choral presentations. We try to present music that is worshipful, yet inspiring and contemplative.

This 40 member group meets every Wednesday evening at 6:00 in the choir room. We enjoy each other's company and look forward to choir practices so that we can see our friends and sing for the glory of God.

Chancel Chimes

This handbell choir is an advanced group that uses 5 octaves of handbells and three octaves of handchimes. We practice on Tuesday mornings at 9:30 . We play moderate to difficult pieces and play in our church services about once a month and for other special occasions. We have approximately 14 members in this group.

Hosanna Bells

This handbell group meets on Tuesday evenings from 5:30 to 6:30.   We play music with moderate difficulty and our goal is to play in church at least once a month.  

This group also uses our handchimes.   We have approximately twelve members in this group.

Children in Music Ministries  

On NEW children's choir...THE HALLELUJAH CHOIR....started rehearsals on Wed., February 1, at 4:00 in the choir room. Everyone from FIRST GRADE through SIXTH grade is welcome!

THis choir is already excited about learning to sing God's praises. Please encourage your children; to join this fun group of children!

We will sing once a month during the church services.
