In addition to the mission support offered through annual United Methodist apportionments, Prescott United Methodist Church highlights one ministry every month to receive a special offering, what we call "second mile giving." These opportunities for additional mission offerings are chosen each year. In 2013, the following missions are being supported:
January: Granite Creek Hunger Ministry provides a Saturday mid-day meal for the many families and individuals in need, as well as social interaction with the volunteers
February: One Great Hour of Sharing to underwrite the United Methodist Committee On Relief "cost of doing business"
March: Hope for the Hopeless child development program to support street children and orphans in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
April: Covenant Missionary Tim Boyle serves as Professor at Kwansei Gakuin University in Nishinomiya, Japan
May: Youth Mission Experience, locally serving this year on the church campus as well as at Rainbow Acres
June: Peace with Justice Grants, offered through the United Methodist Church
July: Covenant Missionary Romeo del Rosario serving as the director of the United Methodist Mission in Cambodia, administering programs and projects.
