In addition to the mission support offered through annual United Methodist apportionments, Prescott United Methodist Church highlights one ministry every month to receive a special offering, what we call "second mile giving."  These opportunities for additional mission offerings are chosen each year.  In 2013, the following missions are being supported:

January: Granite Creek Hunger Ministry provides a Saturday mid-day meal for the many families and individuals in need, as well as social interaction with the volunteers

February: One Great Hour of Sharing to underwrite the United Methodist Committee On Relief "cost of doing business"

March: Hope for the Hopeless child development program to support street children and orphans in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

April: Covenant Missionary Tim Boyle serves as Professor at Kwansei Gakuin University in Nishinomiya, Japan

May:  Youth Mission Experience, locally serving this year on the church campus as well as at Rainbow Acres

June:  Peace with Justice Grants, offered through the United Methodist Church

July:  Covenant Missionary Romeo del Rosario serving as the director of the United Methodist Mission in Cambodia, administering programs and projects.

August: The Justa Center, a United Methodist day resource center in Phoenix designed to help homeless senior citizens, especially veterans.

September: Free Wheel Chair Ministry provides wheelchairs to poor and disabled persons in developing countries.

October: Adopt a Family Christmas project confidentially assists families who otherwise would not have a gifts under their Christmas tree

November:  United Methodist Student Scholarships assists United Methodist college students through the General Board of Higher Education & Ministry

December: Prescott Area Women's Shelter (PAWS) houses up to 12 women and a few children each night from 5 pm to 8 am the next morning.
