GOD IS WAITING

     This morning I read a little book called, The Prayer of Jabez, by Bruce Wilkinson. It made me wonder if this was to be my contribution to the Advent Devotions. Jabez’ prayer says to me:

     God is waiting for you to ask. He is waiting for you to ask for His Blessing; He is waiting for you to ask Him to enlarge your territory; He is waiting for you to ask for His guidance; and He is waiting for you to ask Him to keep you from evil so that you harm no one in any way. In short, God wants you to go the extra mile with His blessing, His guidance and care…but you must ask. --from 1 Chronicles 4:9

And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying,

“Oh, that You would bless me indeed,

and enlarge my territory,

that Your hand would be with me,

and that you would keep me from evil,

that I might now cause pain!

Let us not keep God waiting…ask!

WORTH WAITING FOR

            For some of us it takes longer; but as we also know, the ultimate is worth waiting for.
            For me, my most memorable Christmas was when I joined the church. His presence has always been with me, but it has taken all my years to translate His support into the peace of faith.
             Bless each and everyone for being my second family—contributing to this faith—a peace within worth waiting for.
