                        WAITING

Waiting, waiting—always waiting—in eager anticipation of whatever event in our lives is so important but yet out of reach.

Lord, please help us know that the everyday occurrences, happen-stances and routines are the important parts of the whole of our lives. What will be most remembered are the pleasures of friendships, the beauty of a sunrise, the magnificence of a sunset, the wonderment of a child, the touch of a loved one and, mostly, the peace that comes with the knowledge of Your Love.

Please, Lord, also keep us mindful that life is not a dress rehearsal, and to pause to enjoy the simple pleasures in each and every day.

THE GREATEST GIFT

Jesus Christ is Lord and He came to live and die for each of us.

After spending 54 years with my soul mate, it is hard to face a whole new life being single. It cannot be grasped completely or all at once. I accept the challenge that He may give and thank Him for it. I need to listen to Him and not worry about tomorrow.

Life with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, taking my hand and leading me through each moment, my burdens seem less heavy. He touches me each day with His powerful love.

Yes, Christmas is the birth of Jesus and He is the greatest gift of all.
