WAITING

Waiting is a common thing,
Not tardy or delaying.
Everyone knows what it means
Without a special saying.

To wait can mean anticipate
Or patience exercise.
It offers hope of yet to be
As taken by the wise.

Waiting can be helpful,
Cursed or painful still;
Affecting much activity
Or tempering of will.

It's fun to wait for a good event
Or look to best ahead,
Tho' some see it a handicap
And negative instead.

The world would be in chaos
If no one stopped to wait;
For taking turns important
To ward off dire fate.

Mothers prove that waiting
Allows perfection true
In actual reproduction
Of specimens like you.

The life is one long waiting time
For each and every one;
We're happy to extend it
From now until we're done.

So consider it a blessing
That waiting is to be
In happy connotation
'Til heaven beckons thee.
